I often see ticking at the fabric store and think about making an old fashioned dress from it. Then I happened to find this photo and it's perfect! Those lemons are making me yearn for fresh squeezed lemonade and lemon bars.
Does this not sound delicious? My mom made lavender scones with clotted cream several years ago and I am still thinking about how good they were.
I read in a farm magazine recently that ancient Romans used lavender during war time for applying to soldiers wounds. Personally, I like to use Dr. Bonner's lavender soap to clean with as it makes the whole house smell good. The provence lavender I planted in my earthbox is finally taking off.
Happy Lei Day! The gardenias are blooming so I've tucked away little bouquets in the house to make it smell heavenly. The bushes usually bloom for an entire month. I probably have enough to make a hoku lei.
