Norwegian firehouse

Have you heard of HDR photography? Well if not, it is "high dynamic range" which allows greater light and dark areas and lots of intensity. This picture is an example.

Happy Birthday A

Happy Birthday to my younger sister, A. She is a hippie child and would have loved the 60s and 70s but she wasn't born yet!

bali design

Ok who wants to go to Bali? I do, after seeing these lovely pictures!! And I already have several pareos.

I think they use a lot of teak in their interior design. Just look at all of those flowers floating in the pool...

Plus I've always liked canopy beds, this one has some old-fashioned lace.

blue and green

A favorite color combination of mine is blue and green. Maybe it's because those colors are easily found in nature. I really like this striped dress, it was the only one left and I'll have to alter it since it's more than twice my size. (the tie on the waist sure comes in handy)

I saw an enamel pitcher in a magazine and decided I need one. Then I went on ebay and got outbid. After that I remembered seeing one in the gully ditch that empties out into the creek. It's a bit rusty but still holds water with no leaks! (as well as some wildflowers I found growing on the lawn)

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my mom's birthday, I think she is 52. Sounds pretty young when your oldest is 31 and youngest, 7. Plus she only has 3 grey hairs!

Since she is out of town I will have a few days to work on a birthday present. Maybe I can dig out an old photo to post. (ha ha Mom)

garden harvest

This is what I picked out of the garden today.

Here's some pictures from last week. I put jalapeno peppers in my omelettes, yum!!

My favorite part of gardening is enjoying the harvest! Pretty soon I will have bucket loads of tomatoes since I probably have 20+ plants.

We never get tired of squash, it's so easy to cook...all you do is sautee it in butter or oil and sprinkle on lots of sea salt and pepper.
