more swedish love

Charming images from Eva Lindh ( a photostylist). Her portfolio also shows work she did for Skona Hem. And what is with this LANTLIV magazine, do I have to move to Sweden to buy it? Because I did not see it at Barnes & Noble or Borders.

bed inspiracion

The brick layout makes a wonderful headboard for this bed. It reminds of a room tucked away in a castle!

Yesterday I finally assembled my Malm bed I bought several months ago from IKEA. It feels nice to finally have a real bedframe. Now if only I could get my bedroom to look like one of these pictures...well a girl can dream, ha ha.

I'm trying to get rid of all the clutter in my room so that meant filling up bags of clothes to give to Goodwill. Ok, I've got to get back to cleaning...I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Today I stayed home from work because yesterday I had terrible allergies so I was expecting to suffer today. We decided to have a picnic so I gathered up some pretty teacups and dishes. I don't think my little brother liked all the picture-taking, he kept asking "can we eat the food now"? But he kept himself busy by pretending to be a scary ghost with the sheets on the clothesline nearby. A clothesline which I hung today between two trees. You can't beat a clothesline from the dollar store ~ one dollar for the clothespins and another for the line.

anthro love

I love anthropologie for their clothing that is somehow old-fashioned yet modern. And I've got queen anne's lace growing in my garden but didn't have the heart to pull them out.

pretty fireplace

There is something very calming about sitting next to a fire and letting your mind drift away as you listen to the wood burning and watch embers pop into the air. Our ancestors used fire for warmth, protection from wild animals and to cook. Today most of us have the luxury of using it to create a relaxing atmosphere. The chandelier adds an elegant touch to this outdoor fireplace.

Around here

This picture was taken at a local plant nursery. I like the colors and textures. And below are some sweet little kitties. There are actually four white ones but two are hiding.

My tomato plants are coming along nicely. This is a green zebra heirloom plant, I have so many tomato plants that I tried to mix and match the colors so I have rows of inter-mixed yellow, stripey (yellow-pink), pink, red, and black. Once they start getting big I will take another picture of this tomato rainbow.

I was tagged by Jociegal of Wingin' It - Tales of a Girl's Attempt at Life to list 6 little things that make you happy...

1) picking fresh fruits & vegetables from my garden

2) wearing one of my cute aprons

3) the smell of honeysuckle in the summer air

4) playing music (piano or guitar)

5) hugs & kisses

6) meaningful conversations

Now I've got to find some people to tag :)

raw restaurant

Last night at the raw restaurant I got a sandwich made from dehydrated onion bread filled with lettuce, hummus, sprouts and avocados. It was very light and airy. We also had chips and guacamole as an appetizer. The reverse osmosis water was also good, even though it was just "water", it tasted almost sweet.

I didn't feel very "full" so when we got home I had a green drink to get rid of my sugar cravings. Which reminds me I would like to make some raw fudge which is just avocado, agave syrup and cocoa powder mixed together. It's pretty good with fresh strawberries or blueberries.

The green drink I had is "greens to go" which is a powder form of greens/veggies/fruits that you mix with water. I bought it at Costco and drink it makes me feel healthier.

grandma's house

Blueberry is my favorite pie! I used hearts for the crust but think next time I'll try a lattice crust.

I am in Florida right now and tonight for dinner we are going out to a raw/vegan restaurant. I'm pretty excited to try the raw food dishes! (Maybe it will get me back on track to eating raw again).
